Navigating apps and graphic animations are making people feel nauseous
Apple's new operating system iOS 7 is making people sick. No, seriously -- they're actually getting physically sick.
According to a new report from The Verge, some iPhone and iPad users who switched to iOS 7 are experiencing symptoms like headaches and nausea from the rapid motions when navigating the OS. More specifically, swiping through the apps and looking at certain graphic animations have caused problems.
IOS 7 users are taking to Apple forums to voice their experiences. For instance, in the Apple Support Communities forum, user Ensorceled posted "The zoom animations everywhere on the new iOS 7 are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache. It's exactly how I used to get carsick if I tried to read in the car. How do I turn them off? Do I have to revert to 6?"
In the same forum, a user in another thread asked how to turn off the iOS 7 navigation animations because it's making them dizzy. Some people have even complained about severe vertigo, according to Huffington Post.
Users, unfortunately, cannot go back to iOS 6. The only real "solution" is to go to Settings>General>Accessibility, then find "Reduce Motion" and turn it on.
However, this doesn't completely fix the problem. It takes care of the parallax effect, but doesn't get rid of the quick zooming.
We'll have to wait and see if Apple releases an additional fix for the issue, or at least controls that minimize the quick motions.
